A lawyer can protect not only your rights but your money, your property, even loved ones, depending on your situation. If you are faced with a situation you do not know how to handle, often one of the best choices you can make is to consult with an attorney to learn more about how the law applies to you and your situation.

Depending on your circumstances, a lawyer can protect not only your rights but your money, your property and your loved ones. If you are faced with a legal situation you do not know how to handle, often one of the best choices you can make is to consult with an attorney to learn more about whether and how the law applies to your situation.

Are you having serious marital difficulties?
Have you been charged with a crime?
Do you want to write your first will or do you need to re write your existing will because of chnaged circumstances?
Do you need a power of attorney or an advanced medical directive?
It is prudent, when finding yourself answering "yes" to any of these questions to consult with legal counsel to protect your rights and promote your (and possibly your family's) best interests.

It may be that you can resolve your situation yourself. If so, I will tell you so and even give you some direction.

However, there are problems that should not be tackled alone if at all  possible.  Doing so often significantly lessens your ability to obtain the best outcome. Contested divorces, for example, are best handled with the assistance of an experienced lawyer because the many issues involved can be complicated, not self-evident and the ramifications are often far-reaching if not permanent.  Criminal charges that carry the possibility of jail time are also often not well suited to being handled without representation.

Hiring counsel ensures that someone knowledgeable about the law and legal process is working through the problems with you.
