Personal Experience

I was admitted to practice law in New York State in 1980 and in practiced law there with a firm in Albany, and, later, with the now-defunct Bank of New York. I left to become a Peace Corps volunteer in the Republic of Niger, West Africa, where I taught English as a foreign language.

Upon my return to the United States, seeking warmer weather, I moved to Virginia Beach in 1987. I took the Virginia Bar examination, passed, and was admitted to practice law in the Commonwealth of Virginia in 1988.

I began my Virginia law practice with the Chesapeake Commonwealth's Attorney's office.

Later, I married and left Hampton Roads (Tidewater we called it then) to follow my Naval Flight Officer husband to the west coast and then to Japan. We returned to Virginia Beach in 1999, and I began to practice law again, first with a local firm and then, beginning in 2005, in my own solo practice.
